It’s that glorious time of year when the flowers are blooming, the birds are singing, and there’s suddenly rainbows on everything. Sure, you look great. But your cat is absolutely thriving. But even better, there are so many pride products that give back to the LGBTQIA+ community. So, we pulled some of the best ones out just for you.
Every year, capitalism absolutely pops off and every brand (for better or worse) slaps a rainbow onto something. Though we absolutely live for the Target Pride Collection reveal (and subsequent roast), there are so many other brands, queer business owners, and artists that you can get your Pride Month merch from.
From pronoun pins and rainbow socks to validating stickers and subtle accessories, these Pride products all give something back to the community. And we don’t just mean stunning looks. But that doesn’t hurt, either.
15 Pride Products That Give Back to the Community
1. “Gender is a Social Construct” Print
Break the binary, but make it disco. This funky, colorful print will brighten up your home, and remind any admirers that gender is just a costume.
Its sale benefits the Marsha P. Johnson Institute, which is dedicated to protecting and defending the rights of Black trans people. The Pride movement owes a lot to this incredible Black woman, and this is one cute way to honor her legacy.
2. Rainbow Eco-Friendly Everyday Crossbody Bag
Though not entirely subtle, this crossbody bag is a little more understated than dressing head to toe in rainbows, eyelashes and eyebrows included. All proceeds benefit the Human Rights Campaign, which works to end discrimination against LGBTQ+ folks.
And if you’re thinking that the only way this bag could be better is if it had some cute Pride pins on it, then keep following us down this rainbow brick road…
Available at Human Rights Campaign
3. “Trans Rights Are Human Rights” Pinback Button
It wouldn’t be a pride products list without a whole lot of pins. These cute little buttons feature a super important message, benefit the incredible Marsha P. Johnson Institute, and are perfect for fixing to the fanny pack, short-eralls, and lanyard you’ll be rocking at your local pride parade. And if they’re attached to you, there’s less of a chance you’ll lose them.
We said less. Not foolproof.
4. “I (Love) Drag Queens” Button
It’s more important now than ever that we absolutely scream this from the rooftops. We love drag queens, and would trust them with our kids over Republican lawmakers any day. Plus, proceeds benefit the ACLU, which fights for the rights of queer and trans people across the country. We’ll take 100.
5. “Trans Folks Are My Friends & Family” 3″ Pinback Button
We’re pretty sure the only way these could get cuter is if they came with a basket of puppies. This pin shows allyship and reminds us all that trans folks exist and are loved. Best of all, $3 from each sale benefits Trans Lifeline, a trans-run grassroots organization offering direct emotional and financial support to trans people via a hotline and microgrants.
Who knew a pin could do more than us on a lazy Sunday afternoon?
6. “Love is Love” Embroidered Heart Sweatpants
Bring pride inside with these cozy sweatpants that benefit the Human Rights Campaign. You show off your pride outside them too, but you might want some TomboyX underwear for that.
Available at Human Rights Campaign
7. “Bi, Bi, Bi” T-Shirt
Show off your bisexual pride, support the Human Rights Campaign, and get a super catchy song stuck in everyone’s head with this comfy t-shirt. *NSYNC approved.
Available at Human Rights Campaign
8. Pride Heart Necklace
This subtle pride accessory is a great find for people who might not be out to everyone in their life, but want to wear a little pride token anyways. Plus, $3 from each sale goes to The Trevor Project to fund their suicide-prevention hotline for LGBTQIA+ youth. Looking good, meet doing good.
9. “Proud” Knee Socks
These rainbow knee socks are the perfect addition to any Pride parade outfit, and benefit the ACLU. For extra Queer style points, pair with Doc Martens or Birkenstocks. Not that these socks weren’t already gay enough.
10. Pride Rainbow Hearts Mug
Bring some extra pride to your mornings with this adorable rainbow hearts mug. Plus, 50% of each purchase goes directly to The Trevor Project. Another excuse to drink more coffee? Fine.
11. “Protect Queer Kids” Suncatcher Sticker
Slap this adorable sticker onto a window that gets lots of sun, and you’ll get beautiful rainbow prisms all over your room. This product is also a double hitter: it’s made by a queer artist and 50% of proceeds go to the Black Trans Liberation Kitchen, which helps build sustainable food-justice programs for trans-led organizations in New York City.
BRB while we put these on every single window in our apartment. Who said interior decoration was hard?
12. Pride Apron
Got any cute chefs in your life? They’ll be even cuter in this rainbow-edged apron from Hedley & Bennett. Plus, some of the proceeds go to the Los Angeles LGBT Center’s Culinary Arts program. We’ll always support more good food in the world (as if you didn’t already know that about us).
And yes, any additional clothing under it is very optional.
13. Unity Bellini Sunglasses
These rainbow sunnies are about to complete Pride outfits everywhere, but will they be able to block out the reflection from all the glitter sparkling in the sun? Impossible. But at least a third of profits go towards grassroots organizing for equity, so we’ll feel good about that.
14. Pride Doormat
Though we’re not sure about the fact that it’s a…well…doormat, it’s too cute to pass over. Show off your pride for all the world (and of course every house guest) to see with this pride flag doormat. It also benefits The Trevor Project.
15. “Lover” Pink Upcycled Embroidered Shirt
While it’s not exactly covered in rainbows, this chic find still makes it on the list because it’s cute, comfy, supports the Marsha P. Johnson Institute, and would make a great Taylor Swift Eras Tour fit. What a time to be alive.
