Squid Game — which is not, surprisingly, a spinoff of SpongeBob — is the new nine episode Netflix show that’s been both horrifying and, no, mostly just horrifying viewers. And, the Internet is coping via funny Squid Game memes and tweets. (Spoilers ahead.)
The Korean show follows a group of cash-strapped players who agree to participate in life-or-death games for a huge reward. It’s like if you mashed Hunger Games and Saw together and only fed the contestants hard-boiled eggs and corn. Or, in other words, the Ohio diet.
