How to Boil a Lobster
Cooking and boiling a lobster perfectly isn't that hard, but you may want to hypnotize it first.

1 19-quart cooking pot
1 pair of tongs
- live lobsters
- water
- 1 Tbsp. salt
Fill the pot two-thirds full with water.
Add 1-2 tbsp salt and bring the water to a rolling boil over high heat.
Gently place the lobsters in the pot and cover with a lid.
Cook the lobsters until they are bright red and has an internal temperature of 135-150° F. See notes for cooking time recommendations.
Remove from hot water using tongs.

- 1 pound: 5-7 minutes
- 1¼ pounds: 7-8 minutes
- 1½ pounds: 8-10 minutes
- 2 pounds: 10-12 minutes
- 3 pounds: 12-14 minutes
- 5-6 pounds: 18-20 minutes
