On Thursday, June 16th, the sixth season of the mind-bending sci-fi show Black Mirror dropped on Netflix and episode 1 “Joan Is Awful” had people rushing to check Netflix’s Terms and Conditions. And, predictably, going to Twitter to see all the Twitter reactions and Black Mirror memes. Sorry in advance, Ms. Cusack.
Why the desire to read legalese? Well, the premise of “Joan is Awful” is that the Streamberry streaming service takes a non-public person’s life and mines it to create a new drama. One which stars Salma Hayek, Cate Blanchett, and Annie Murphy. Pretty good selection of actresses to play oneself, if we say so.
Based on this and the reactions to “Loch Ness,” it looks like the first new season in four years has even more twists and turns that you could expect from the folks who brought you “Bandersnatch.” We expect more great tweets to come, but here’s the best so far.
