The Barbie movie was inspired by and highlights characters who already existed as dolls in the Barbie-verse. But now, Mattel is releasing new dolls based on the blockbuster film. So meta, right? It’s almost as if this whole thing was a marketing ploy to sell more toys. Ha ha. Ha?
