Trends may come and go, but strawberry milk is forever. Isn’t that how the old adage goes? Well in this case, the trend is strawberry milk. Nails, that is. But feel free to pour one out as we explain.
A fun pink spin on the chrome, milky aesthetic that’s been dominating our feeds for a hot minute now, strawberry milk nails look exactly like their namesake. A cloudy, milky version of light pink that looks practically edible. Key word: practically.

What Are Strawberry Milk Nails?
Strawberry milk nails are a play on the milk bath manicure trend, which features a white or cream base coat and a shiny top coat for a combined result that looks… well, like milk. In this case, though, you start with a light pink shade for the base coat, and then do the layering from there.
The result is a hazy finish that looks both effortless and chic. Yeah, just like your pizza-stain laden black T-shirt. But also nothing like that.
How to DIY Strawberry Milk Nails
Unlike some of the crazy nail trends we’ve seen lately (hello, pop art nails), strawberry milk nails are fairly simple to recreate. If you’re going for the classic version of the mani, you don’t even need to attempt any nail art. Just a few coats of paint and you’re good as new. Well, like, after you shower.
All you need is a light pink nail polish for the base, and a white shade to layer over top. We recommend gel nail polish for this particular manicure, since gel will give it that lasting shine and it’ll be more chip-resistant.
Directions
- Apply two coats of semi-sheer light pink nail polish. Essie’s Ballet Slippers is the perfect pale shade, or this gel version from GAOY is literally called “Milky Pink,” so it’s a great option, too.
- Layer on on to two coats (depending on how milky you want your mani to be) of a semi-translucent white shade, like this one from OPI.
- Finish with a coat of super shiny top coat. The shinier the better. In this case, and in all things.

Strawberry Milk Nails to Inspire Your Next Mani
1. Classic Strawberry Milk Manicure
The OG version of this nail design is simple. No bells or whistles, but it sure is satisfying to look at. It’s not an in-your-face manicure, unless you’re trying to get something out of your eye.
2. Strawberry Milk Nails with Accent Nail
Strawberry milk, meet strawberries. We’re pretty sure the two of you are truly unrelated, but who knows? Maybe strawberry milk is au natural. Ya never know.
3. Milky Pink Press-Ons
Can’t be bothered to hoof it to the nail salon? Press-ons work just as well. Unless you’re regularly needing to open bottles of pickles. Then you may find yourself… in a pickle.
4. Half French Strawberry Nails
The hazy look of strawberry milk nails lends itself perfectly to a French manicure. For that added strawberry intrigue, leave the tip off a few nails and paint on little fruits. We’re aware that we say that like it’s so easy.
5. Strawberry Milk Nails
Strawberries, floating in milk? This spin on the trend requires a few layers of semi-sheer top coat to make it look like the berries are floating just beneath the surface.

Go for a deeper mauve shade to make this manicure feel a bit more appropriate for the colder months. We say strawberries are timeless, but unfortunately the farmers tend to disagree.

Barbie meets the latest trend in this ombré take on the design. Don’t ask us how to recreate it, but you could ask your dog. He probably doesn’t know, but he does need mental stimulation throughout the day.
8. Strawberry Milk Press On Nails
Another press-on set, and this one is a straightforward, single-toned manicure. That’s also the feedback we got from the local community choir director. Needless to say, we didn’t get in.
9. Strawberry Glaze Donut Nails
Marry chrome with strawberry milk in this glassier version of the nail design. We can practically see our future in these, they’re so reflective. Oh good, we got a pet puffin!
